How far/how long does it take to drive from Inverness to the start village - is it feasible to stay in Inverness the night before?

    Probably about an hour forty but you never know with the traffic along pretty windy roads and for a fair bit of the last 15 miles, it's single track.

    Some nice places to stay in Loch Carron and Shieldaig which are not too faraway. Camp sites there too. YHA at Torridon.
