Uploading Edge 500 to net on Nexus7 tablet

Does anyone know how to do this?
I have the Edge connected via an OTG cable. I can see it and save the .fit files to the nexus using Nexus Media Importer. The problem comes when trying to upload the .fit to Strava or Garmin Connect. When choosing 'upload file from computer' on either site it will only let me upload music or pictures.
Is there a way around this or is the Nexus limited to these files being uploaded?

Fixed it myself, had to swap browsers to Opera and then 'upload from my computer.' That allows me to explore all the files on the Nexus, not just music and pictures.0
