Deore Front Mech - How to identify

Ive recently picked up a new bike and slowly trying to set it up. The front mech appears to be in good working order but i cant for the life of me work out the model. Where if at all are the marking for the model located on them?
The bikes circa 2004 so im not expecting anythign amazing but a clue as to what i have would be very useful.
Also if anyone can point me in the direction of a good guide on setting up it would be much appriciated as im pretty rusty on this.
