Got a few hours to kill in Glasgow tomorrow.

Can any recommend a good bike shop near the city centre ? Looking for long sleeved jersey and other bits and bobs.

I will be on foot and do not know Glasgow other than the centre

Thanks.
All the gear, but no idea...

Dales is a 10 minute walk from George Sq plus there is Alpine Bikes in the Tiso outdoor shop which is close to that as well.
  • Thanks - found Dales on Google. Should be an easy walk....

the walk home will be easier as your wallet will be a lot lighter. ;)
  • Dales - great shop, selection and general air of service. Unfortunately, couldn't find a jersey, but will go back.

Alpine was much bigger and more 'pure' Trek.

  • if you are talking about alpine roond the corner from dales is is now a TREK ONLY store, they opened up a new alpine near the west end
but i have to say the trek shop is the biz, the guys in there are the friendliest in glasgow, only matched by the velo ecosse lads in edinburgh
only places ill spend my cash
  • Got my wheels from Velo in Edinburgh - sales guy was v.helpful. Fitted tyres and cassette while I waited (10 mins).

Like the bike selection in both Glasgow shops, especially the Dales bikes.

  • velo have nearly got my business on a new giant defy, but there is a nice bmc going at evans - never really consider the bigger chains though, the wee shops are always that bit more personable and velo always have the time for you, never got that vibe in dales though :( despite a tidy collection of bikes
