Relocation to Europe

Hello fellow bikers!
After some advice please? Been riding 10 years or so, have had a variety of hard tales. Had an Orange 5 Pro for a while but didn't get on with it.
I'm moving to S.France, so rather than buying a bike here. Thought I'd get one locally, try and get to know my local bike shop.
At Easter I'm heading further south and going to Sierra Espuna and la Fenasosa - http://www.lafenasosa.com . That will probably be my first outing with whatever I end up with.
So far I've decided on a 29er. I tried a hard tall 29er and liked it, so going to give fs a go. 2,500 Euro Budget.
I have been offered Stumpjumper FSR Comp Evo 29, 2013 model. This seems to be a model only available in Europe?! I will cut and paste the specs below. They are wanting 2,400 Euros. So this evening I tried out a Stumpjumper, albeit just a comp version. Felt nice, good position, looked lovely. I also tried a camber, just the very basic version. Seemed a great bike, but the Stumpjumper just felt nicer for me.
Now, I'm no Stumpjumper fan boy, so would like all opinions of other brands etc. that could be better. Please keep in mind though that I wanted to be able to buy whatever bike I pick in Europe, preferably by visiting a proper shop so I can try it. I know I can save by going to a discount website, but I'd rather pay a little more and deal with people face to face. That said if I'm buying the wrong bike, I'd rather have no bike and the cash still in the bank!
Thanks in advance for any help.
