As manufacturers have to tell you on every component now that 'Cycling is Dangerous!' with little stickers, i am left with a problem.

All came off fine apart from the one on my forks which left behind an adhesive residue. Over time this has got very grubby and really bugs me. What can i use to remove it?

Petrol on a rag ok?

Gasoline can stain, get a can of Tripple QX from the local car parts store and that will do all you need.

White Spirit. Wash off well afterwards.

    Wd40 seriously try it.

I was also going to suggest that but WD40 always gets a negative rraction on here (for some reason).

    It does defo work though.

    +1 WD40

Or lighter fluid, which won't stain

Or if you're middle class, tea tree oil :D

    Someone asks for suggestions.

    We all suggest things.

The OP gets to decide to try the one he wants.

My reply was simply based on use, It wasnt a command, just advice. Sorry if it offended you.

    Cheers chaps.

I tried the WD40 to no avail a few weeks ago as it was the only thing i had to hand.

Next step will be white-spirit as i have loads of that at work.

Then, angle-grinder, then TripleQX - in that order. ;)

It would take more than that to offend me!

You said you weren't sure about (this) forum etiquette, I was just trying to help by pointing out (in my usual slightly sarcastic way of course, get used to it!) that you don't need to offer the same advice to the same person more than once no matter how much you think that your idea is the best, they will decide what is best, and if it is your suggestion then maybe they will thank you and you can feel all warm and wanted. :D

Don't take anything I say as offensive, I'm just 'avin' a larf between bike rides, like most people here :D
