GT Aggressor 1 BB advice

Dear fellows,
I bought the attached GT aggressor 1 last Christmas. I didn't even bother to haggle the £60 I paid for it because it looked in such good nick. I maintain that, apart from the bottom bracket which looks like it needs replacing. Everything appears sound.
The crank set is a Five D.
Sorry for the minuteness of the pictures.
I've half a mind to try and replace it myself but I have a sneaky feeling that I would get half way or even a quarter of the way through one weekend before having to do something for "her indoors" and then abandoning it. So in all probability I'll get the local bike shop to fit it.
Can anybody tell me what bottom bracket would be compatible, whether these are still available (I think the bike is from a few years back) and how much it might cost?
Many thanks
Nick

Why do you think it needs replacing?0

one that fits the cranks.
see what fitting it is,
Square or Powerspline."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
