I am going to buy a decent set of head lights for my commute, I am commuting 90% on very well lite roads, towards the end of the journey I have a bit of dark road that is very bendy and hilly, I am fine for my rear light, I am looking into getting this product here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5pbpGwgmcw
my question is should I go for this or invest the same money in a high powered led light, I never go off anywhere at night on the bike, I just want to be seen better.

I can see why you'd want that - but isn't it rather a lot of money for what it provides?
I do think you need to be seen side on - so you don't want just a spotlight on the front of your bike - reflectors can be very good - but may not always be picked out in the lights of a car coming in at 90° to your course.
I can't help with specific kit as mine is aimed at seeing where I'm going as 90% of my ride is on unlit roads with very few sideroads.

smart lunar are great 'to be seen by' lights and you can still pick up reflective spoke straws in Aldi after their recent bike week if you're lucky, I suspect lidl might have them in their upcoming one both for a fiver or so. They also go for about a tenner in halfords and when youre riding along give you a wall of light from your wheels.

LMAO. I thought this until I bought an Exposure Max D 1600 Lumens, a genuine 1600 lumens, not some rubbish off Ebay or Amazon.
Life is like a roll of toilet paper; long and useful, but always ends at the wrong moment. Anon.
Think how stupid the average person is.......
half of them are even more stupid than you first thought.

I just got one of these:

It is not 1600 lumens, more like 900, but still the best for this money. Rear light is great too! Less than 20 quid, can't go wrong. Is superb.
