Is the rockshox xc 28 fork with 100 mm travel, just the same fork as a rockshox dart 3 fork with 100 mm travel, but under a new name?

Pretty much. The XC28 replaced the Dart.0

Be fine for that - not the best for hard riding, but has a well controlled damper and lockout, if a bit weighty. Are you buying new? If so, a budget in mind?0

No i am not buying new, i saw a bike on ebay with a dart 3 fork on and that is why i was asking the question. Thank you for your advice.0
