I need to change the chain of my wife's anthem x, it runs shimano groupset. I'm not too sure if which chain it compatible with it, is it the 114 link or 116link. In addition is it really advisable to use shimano hg chains?

KMC are better and come with a master link. As for size how many links are on there now? Most need some taken out anyway.

You need to usually cut them down to fit anyway. Shimano make perfectly good chains, just make sure the speed matches what you have.

Chain sizing info can be found on Parktools.

I have no idea what is the current link size, because the chain broke in the trail and never bother picking it up. The speed would be 2x10, cassette size is 11-36.

    Makes no difference.

Buy a 10spd chain read the fitting info and the info on parktools.

Just like dhobiwallah I hope we misunderstood you if not well go back and pick it up you scruffy git. We wonder why so many other country users dislike us and yet we leave a pound of filthy metal lying about on a trail giving them ammunition to whinge to the National Trust or the local council.
