Hi all,
Long time lurker and first time poster looking for a little wise counsel from the collective.
Been off the bike for a few years, but starting to get back out now. Looking for a new ride to help me along the way. Criteria are sub £1k hardtail with a decent all round spec. for trails/trail centres and the odd bit of xc. Leaning towards a 29er following a couple of quick try outs.
I stumbled across the Scandal, which seems to tick many boxes for me and would appreciate any thoughts on spec etc. as I'm itching to press the button but can't afford to make a mistake.

While it certainly isn't "Best specced hardtail at this price on the market", it still represents good value with a quality frame and fork. It is all simple, but functional stuff.0

Thanks Supersonic.
What else do you think I should take a look at?0 -

If this is the right size it is just over budget...0 -
I've been looking at the Canyons and they seem to give the best bang for buck when it comes to components
Hadn't seen this one so thanks mcnultycop, it is the right size for me.0 -
Sorry to jump in but I'm looking for the same sort of thing.
Is the fork good on that canyon?0
