I was with a biomechanics guy who set up the shimano sh-11 floating cleats on my new dhb r1.0 road shoes. There arent any markings on the soles , so what do you guys use for marking the cleat position so as its easy replicated when new cleats are installed ?

Tipex (the thin pen type) or thin metallic marker pen. The hard thing is putting cleats on a new pair of shoes for the first time where trial and error is the only way I've found based on an educated first attempt.0

General wear and tear and grime off the road seems to do the job for me...Cannondale CAAD 10 Ultegra

I use Look delta cleats and use a black permanent marker around the old cleats before removing them.0

When swapping cleats, either marker pen or bits of tape around the important external dimensions works for me. The decision as to which method to use is based on whichever I find first in the home office* - suitable pen, or tape?
* Which, to discourage burglars, is currently disguised as a Council tip in the pre-recycling days.Mangeur0 -
A second for the tipex method works for me 8)Felt AR4

I paint the whole sole white with the first set of plates fitted correctly, then when I need to change just put the new ones in the black space.0
