comfy seat?

Why do bikes in general have such uncomfy seats? It is like riding around on a butchers knife, no good for you whatsoever, and will cause you bruising and injury.
Can anyone tell me or recommend to me any companies that make replacement seats for mountain bikes that are comfy and soft, and do not cause any damage to you?

Softness doesn't necessarily mean comfort since it then offers little support. As above though, the Spoon seems to suit a lot of people. SDG'd Bel Air saddle is also popular, and seems to suit those who the Spoon doesn't. You need to give yourself time to get used to a saddle too. It's no good deciding to change after one ride.0

I believe the Selle Italia Flite Titanium original is another saddle favoured by many. I've happily used one since the early 90's and they are still obtainable. Light weight but still with a reasonable amount of padding.0

Both my brother and myself swear by this saddle

The bonus is it has a nice long rail to help sort the ideal position.0 -
The SDG bel air that has already been mentioned, superb and comfy saddle but like any saddle your posterior will need to adjust to it and what suits me may not suit you, have you been riding long ? if not just give your backside timen to be broken in :shock:work hard, play hard, fall hard
