Spotted this last night and is quite deep, just trying to figure out what to do about it...

Not a lot really. Prob not structural, just stop it happening again.

There's not a lot i can do in that area really as the cable moves where ever it wants to when the suspension pivots.

Make it longer. It's going to have to dangle a bit more, shouldn't cause issues

Run it over the cable guide and cable tie it in place.

Aye it's a full length outer on my boardman fs team, a place i've neglected to look at since getting it last year.
Prolly not an issue but it's about 3.5mm deep when measuring with my vernier.

as you turn the bars it is most likely pulling the cable forward reducing what is available under the BB.

pull it back and secure it.

Thanks for the replies, i;ll get some small zipties and see about securing it....i'm just a bit concerned about how deep the groove is tbh.

Nothing you can do about the groove, and it's not at a stress point, so no use worrying.
