Mixing SRAM and Shimano at the front (10 speed)

Morning All
Mrs Torres has decided she needs a few more gears upfront on her attack trail (currently running 1x9.) I have a spare deore 10 speed front mech in my spares box, but she's a SRAM fan when it comes to shifters. Can one mix and match a sram shifter with a shimano front mech like with 9 speed or have things changed a bit?

My Giant came with sram shifters and deore front mech, 10 speed sram on the rear.0
