At this price point, bikes from these manufacturers are pretty much the same.....both competent machines.
Best thing is to buy the one you like the look of, or feel better about on a test ride.
You can't really go wrong with either.
If you can find a deal, there are often £1300 'dale and Treks available discounted down to about £1k or thereabouts, but you can always spend more...and it never ends!0 -
Thanks for that and knocking some sense into me. You do end up liking everything, so it's go with the gut instinct then.......a Specialized0

Go get on them & see if you like & feel good on them.
As porker33 has said both the bikes you are looking at are very good for the money, though there are plenty of others out there for that sort of money. Plus you should still find local bike shops selling 2012 models to make space for the 2013 ones at a knock down price.Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.0 -
Thanks for the advice Dan.0

I was torn between those two - the synapse was just about edging it on paper but I struggled to find anywhere with stock to try, ended up with the domane and am more than happy with it.0

I have a 2012 Cannondale Synapse 105 and I like it a lot. It's my first road bike coming over from MTB and it was a great choice I think. The SAVE system makes a small amount of difference in reducing road noise on the bars and was a great introduction to me coming from a full sus Commencal.
I may be trading it in for a Ribble Gran Fondo as I just love carbon as a material and it has looks to die for. No reflection on the quality of the Cannondale at all, it's a great bike. Try all contenders in your price range and see for yourself, it's the only way to go.0
