to all mountain bikers, would you wear camo?

my question is would you buy and wear a garment that involved camo in its aesthetics? so maybe the sleeves are camo or the chest panel is camo... do you get me? if not please say why?

I'd happily wear some DPM type shorts. Nothing else on a bike though.

I have some camo Endura shorts. They were cheaper than the other colour options. I might give it a go if the rest of the garments functionality was good.

Blending in with your surroundings is no good when your in a forest waiting for paramedics to find you.

possibly if it's decent quality and once it's in the sale and cheaper than all the other bike clothing. Otherwise no

Quite like camo. Apart from black it's my favourite colour for riding in.

I have some camo Endura baggies that always look the same no matter how clean/dirty they are and a couple of jerseys with camo bits on them. Obv I don't wear them at the same time that would look ludicrous
  • No, camo lycra would just look wrong... some of these granny ring twiddling, baggy short wearing, can't ride uphill for toffee mincers on here might like it though ... all a bit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbPERR2aybc for me.

I have a FR top that I picked up cheap in a french decathlon that has camo sleeves. But I wouldn't actively seek it out.

Plus, very dark green is better for stalking people.

  • ok so i think i have worded the question wrong. :/ ok um so... when i say camo 'involved' with the garment i dont mean it to be in large large untastefull amounts, im talking as in the camo will compliment the garments. used as a contrast colour. and in saying that the use of camo wouldnt be close to enough to perform 'camo's' initial function. its not in the taste of hunting but in aesthetics. so after saying this... would you be likely to buy and wear a garment that involves this?

you will likely find it's already being done.

camo done tastefully can look ok as do the shorts that are readily available.

I've got a fox jersey that's got a sort of leaf/camo pattern in places. It's pretty nice.

If you really have an interest in mountain biking fashion then have a look at the Troy Lee website. That seems to be what all the cool kids want to wear for some reason.
You have picked the wrong sport if you are interested in introducing fashionable clothing. The street / commuter / hipster fixie market is already flooded with fashionable crap.
The most important things with mountain bike clothing are functional design to protect the rider from the elements, dry quickly, not fall to pieces.

Camo is good for hiding in the bushes to:
    a) Shoot game
    b) await potential rape victims
    c) look like a knob

    • no i dont ride. ..and yes this is a question asking what colours people like to where. but in saying that im not asking about every colour or your favorite colour, im asking if you would be likely to wear camo. the reason for this is because my teacher told me that some people have a problem with camo and refuse to wear it because of what it means, so im doing research to see if people would buy cloths that involve camo and if they dont i want to know why.
