Cycling in Andalucia - need some advice

Hi there,

A friend and I and my son plan to cycle across southern Spain from Faro to Bedar, just north of Almeria from 26th March until 5th April, 2013 (10 days)

We have a couple of logistical challenges

1. How to locate empty cartons to pack our bikes for our return flight Almeria to Gatwick (we will have discarded the ones we will have used to fly one way from Luton to Faro in Portugal)

2. What is the best (least hilly) route from Seville to Granada? How long would it take if we went via Cordoba, for example?

Welcome any suggestions on either/both the above

Many thanks, John

    Hi there
There is a bike shop in Turre, just over the motorway from Bedar, that do hire and sales, not been in there but imagine there'll be English speakers if not English owners if your Spanish is lacking. They might have a couple of cardboard boxes, or call them to see if they can hold a couple for you

There's also a bike shop in Garrucha next to Mojacar
There are also several bike shops in Almeria itself, a big cycling community down there.
Can't help with the Seville side of things but any info you need re Granada onwards, happy to help. We're in Las Alpujarras south of Granada and ride to Mojacar on one of our tours, enjoy our mountains and have a good trip!
