Rose vs Canyon

I'd only ever ridden hardtails and was all set to replace my Trek superfly with a cotic solaris...until I hired a full susser at glentress last week and just loved it. I see there's been a good deal of debate already tonight about the relative merits of FS vs HT and the depth of the pockets of those who buy them, but I'm now decided on going for my first FS and find myself drawn to these two offerings from Rose:

or Canyon:

The savings from buying direct are just too tempting.
Any opinions on the relative merits of these two bikes, the service offered by Rose and Canyon or any others I ought to consider. I plan to use the bike for a mixture of trail centres, xc and messing about my local woods.

Don't think the Slide 150 is a 29er. I was also considering Canyon until I stumbled across the Whyte T129S. Check it out.

^^That^^ and Rose have an excellent UK rep. I haven't rode the bike you linked to but I have rode the Granite Chief and it rode as good as any trail bike I have ridden and is extremely well specced for the money.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
Cheers folks, I will give Rose a shout, I had no idea it may be possible to demo. I had just assumed that lack of demo opportunity was a downside of buying online. Agree that Radon bikes are fantastic lookers and have similarly great specs to Rose and Canyon, but as was pointed out I am looking for 29er which I don't think they do in full sus yet.0

My friend bought a Rose a few years back and got really good service helping him pick the right bike, they come highly recommended by him.0
