After taking the plunge and getting some new wheels for my defy 1 I'm seeing definate gains in my results :D
Combination I hope of lots of winter miles in the crap weather, better diet and exercise most evenings. ( it can't always be a tail wind )

I picked up some dura ace c24 and put gp4000 s on them with some Planet X skewers, I've also switched back to a 12-28 cassette of the ultegra variety now I feel I'm getting stronger (the 12-30 is still on the pr2's)
For a direct comparison I weighed both sets
    Giants
Front 1.2 kg + 59g for the skewer
    Back 1.8kg + 65g "
    Dura ace
    Front .97 kg + 21g "
    Back 1.4kg + 24g "

inI terms of weight saving not sure if that's a decent return, but the defy1 certainly rewards me more now, certainly climbing (and especially out of the saddle) is more efficient, really happy with the bike now and honestly can't see where I would benefit from a upgrade? The frame is solid 105 mostly decent wheels = happy :)
I'm now looking forward to enjoying the hard work put in over the winter !

    Nice one.

(I saw myself on a lot of the segments and figured out it was mostly the Phil Cooke Challenge route...)

Haha yes Paul it was part of that route! It's not a bad loop to be fair and always lots of places to head home from if need be. Did you do the ride this year?

We've ridden it for the last couple of years, Towcester start. It's a good way to force yourself to plan for a 65 mile ride in February...

Well this was my first time and longest ride to date (100 km) rugby start for me, only been riding since August last year so it was good to finish it. Hopefully it will be my first of many!
