After another lackluster pathetic performance of the Under Secretary for Transport at Westminster on Monday:

Is it time to get rid of the man who's only redeeming factor seems to be you'd pick him out in a game of 'guess who' if your oponent was describing Susan Boyle?

His majority is 4,647 down in Lewes so by reallocating some of the votes of some 40,000 British Cycling members or 11,000 LCC members he'd be toast in no time.
If I know you, and I like you, you can borrow my bike box for £30 a week. PM for details.

    Pretty depressing.
Mr Baker said that David Cameron, Nick Clegg and George Osborne were all in favour of promoting greater uptake of cycling in Britain. However, the cycling minister acknowledged that he had never met the Prime Minister to discuss the issue.

So everyone thinks it's a smashing idea so long as they don't actually have to *do* anything. Also of concern was the admission that police forces across the country are deciding which traffic laws they will enforce and which they won't (20mph speed limits). That this was so was not really in doubt (along with policing of ASLs and on road cycle lanes), but to openly admit to it was disappointing to say the least.

There were two such telling moments at yesterday's final evidence session. One came from Mark Milsom, assistant chief constable of West Yorkshire Police, speaking for the Association of Chief Police Officers. "We are not enforcing 20mph speed limits at this moment in time," he told a somewhat aghast inquiry.

Tell that to all those caught on Tower bridge (20 limit).....

To be fair, the Police have a problem, of the speed detection devices used only SPECS is approved to be used in a 20 limit, most 20 limits would need a more usual laser or gatso to enforce sensibly and they can't be used......

Lots of errors in the report as well
Infinitely more cheering was Chris Boardman, the Olympic champion-turned bike company owner,
    Only he doesn't.

Yes, I raised an eyebrow at that. a bit sloppy for a vaguely specialist report.
