So, is Strava illegal if the segment is on a public way in the UK? After all, it is a trial of speed ....

Looking at my speeds on Strava in some sections, I am more at risk of being done for curb crawling....

Another point worth mentioning. If you travel more than 3 in convoy you need permission off some body or another otherwise your breaking a law about convoys etc.

Makes sense really that they want to ensure your either BC or CTT registered ensuring the course has been risk assessed & relevant insurance is in place.
Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.

Indeed - I was really just pointing out that many of us have (inadvertently) broken the law anyway - either by use of Strava or by trying to catch the bugger in front then having an informal race with him/her ...
heck - I've encouraged my nieces, nephew & friends kids to break the law by having little "races" with them ... (it's always nice to beat someone - even if they are half your size! ;) )

Wasn't having go myself - just there is another thread RR Vs sportive and quite a few people can't seem to work out the difference.

Think signpost sprints are pretty common place, you don't even let the kids win?

What would the kids learn if you just let them win? coming 2nd is the first loser. If they can't handle that, then they need to MTFU.

Besides, if I can't race the kids, when am I supposed to be able to win a race myself? :D

what happens if the kids are 1st and 2nd and your in 3rd does it the count as you'd be on the podium :D
