Looking to get into trail riding soon. As such I will be looking for a new jacket and some shorts ideal for the trails. I dont want to be spending too much on them though. Around £20 each max. Any suggestions would be very welcome.

What do you mean looking to get into trail riding? What do you ride now? Whatever riding gear you have already isn't likely to be unsuitable for some other form of mtbing...

I have a road bike with summer road clothes. I don't really fancy getting it muddy :D

  • Decathlon have some mtb shorts for less than £20. Look decent with lining too.
    Jacket for £20.....Aldi maybe?

As Penguin says - Decathlon & Aldi should sort you out. Assuming you have roadie lycra shorts, you just want some lightweight baggies to go over them. Decathlon ones would be good if the lining is removable.

The Aldi softshell (when they have them in) is very good indeed for the money for cooler days.

I worded this wrongly. It's the summer roady clothes I don't want to get muddy. I really want to get my MTB as muddy as possible, as such I want some suitable clothes.

Highly recommend these shorts, Worth the extra that you want to pay. Removable 'comfortable' liner.

I have a few Dare2B Fuseline 3/4 zip tops which can be had for cheap on eBay and other websites and are well worth the money (I picked mine up ranging from £4.50 to £11)

Try spend more on the jacket if you can.

Ah, fair enough. I find decathlon stuff to be decent, I have a decathlon waterproof jacket that I've had for years and it's really good (for the money).
