I have a front break issue I have them correctly positioned on the rim, they work fine but if I need to apple breaks at a hazard I'm screwed, the lever pulls and slows me down but it seems that the lads Are not catching the rim the tyre just keeps running through it as if there is oil on it?

When I decipher your post I may be able to answer it :-)

Are you saying that you can not stop as quick as you would like?

You need to have a word with the lads and explain that they can't have an apple break.

Is this the workshop forum or grammer forum? To try to be helpful though, what make and model of levers and calipers are you using to try to break/ brake / apple?

Isn't predictive text a wonderful tool? Fitting some cartridge brake pad holders and decent pads will probably help. Try a soft compound pad like Koolstop Salmons. You might want to clean your rims too with a green Scotchbrite pad.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Softer brake pads, center them over the rim, move pads slightly further away from rim for more leverage (open brakes slightly) and clean the rim with warm, soapy water.

    What brakes do you have?

I have no idea what's going on here.
