I've been looking for climbs in the snowdonia area and found this http://app.strava.com/segments/1786022
On google street view the climb comes to a gate and then seems to become private, has anyone here ridden it and do they mind cyclists using the road?

Based on the somewhat dubious method known as looking at an OS map...
http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=259682&y=363120&z=120&sv=259682,363120&st=4&ar=y&mapp=map.srf&searchp=ids.srf&dn=816&ax=259682&ay=363120&lm=0
...it looks like it's almost certainly not a public right of way of some sort, and appears to be an access road for the watery bit of Dinorwig Power Station. That said, it looks like it gets ridden all the time in a less than covert way, and there are public footpaths up there anyway. Google "marchlyn mawr hill climb" and there are plenty of pics of it in use for a club hill climb.Mangeur0 -
This route takes your to a private road owned by the waterboard up to a dam. Although the road is private you can still ride it but you will have to carry your bike over a gate or through a kissing gate. The view from the top is epic.
This particular segment is actually quite hard to follow from the bottom, there are a few country lanes with multiple junctions so if you want to give it a crack then you might want a little map on your top tube.
The road tops out at over 2100ft which is higher than any road in Wales or England, the surface is good and one of the local clubs does a hill climb here at the end of the season.
Here's a little collection of some big climbs in the area
