I got my report from my bike fit and I was wondering about a couple of measurments.

Saddle height 765 MM

Is this from the centre of the BB, aloing the seat tube and to the top of the saddle?

Saddle to Stem 412 MM

Is this from the tip of the saddle nose to the top cap on the stem?

Sadlle to bar height 80 MM

IS this the height of the saddle above stem height?

    yes

this measurement is usually tip of saddle to inside edge of bar - but if they specify stem ?

difference between top of saddle (at centre/seating point) to top of bars - but again, if they are specifying stem ?

(stems are various width/size etc - the top of bars would be the constant in relation to your fit on any bike - not just the one you are measured on

Saddle height. If this is from the BB, it doesnt account for varying crank length.
Saddles have varying degrees of give, which can account for a few mm.

Saddle-to-bars. saddles vary in the distance between your sit-bones and nose.
Saddle-to-bar drop. There is no std but I would assume to the top of the bars.

    These measurements are suspiciously precise.
  • To be honest, you're better off asking your fitter these questions. For example my saddle height is measured from BB to top of saddle through the mid point of the saddle rails. So different fitters have different methods.

Ask your fitter, not us. I went through my numbers with mine after he'd noted them down to ensure I knew what they meant.

    Saddle to Stem 412 MM

This is a very small measurement - not sure this has been quoted correctly - is this to the back edge of the stem?

I did ask my fitter and got my answers. I tried to see if there was an option to delete this post after I did. But sure as BT once said 'Its good to talk'.
