Bike sizing

I am 190cm tall with a 93cm inner leg.

I've been into a few LBS asking to try a CAAD10 size 61. No one has one in stock but they've all given me the 61 is a very big bike sir, try this 56 we have in stock.

My current tricross is a 61. I'm comfy on it but understand that a racing road bike will have different geometry.

Am I wrong to request a 61?

The impression i get is that they all stock mainly 54-56 and would like to convince me that the racier fit requires me to be cramped.

There is no chance you're riding a 54/56cm! You're absolutely correct to try a 61cm. Maybe try a 58cm but chances are it'll be too small.

This is unfortunately indicative of Cannondale and their supply chain. They are terrible at supplying larger sizes in this country. At times they're terrible at supplying anything at all for months. It's been a common problem for years. Clearly they haven't sorted it out.

Do not buy the wrong size bike - you will regret it!
