Has winter ended?
Went out this afternoon. For the first time in months I could feel my hands and feet. The temperture was in double figures. My bib leggings felt too hot, time to get out the shorts. I wasn't pushed for time before it got dark. I wasn't cycling into gales and downpours.
It felt so good again.
The only problem is I did not feel as cycling fit as I did a few months ago, my legs burned and felt tired on a route I normally do with ease.
I hope we can now get back to lots of dry, warm, sunny cycling.

Saturday. Still , warm beautiful sunshine and clear skies, stayed at home and did shopping, cleaning etc. No sweat, it will be nice on Sunday right??
Sunday. My usual riding day, cold, wet and blustery winds. Doh!!0 -
Needed full winter gear for my ride yesterday and still frosty this morning here in Bagshot, but certainly up to 6 or 7 degrees this afternoon.
Thanks Goodness. The older you get, the more you yearn for Spring.0 -
I need to move where you lot are, was 1 degree when I set off at 7:30 this am. Then moved to a nice line in cold, blustery wind. The afternoon was a lot better, think we even had 10 minutes of sun0

Was still cold on the bike yesterday due to the windchill, rode out to the Norfolk coast and it was a nasty breeze coming straight over the North Sea. Today however I took my gloves off for a bit as it was too hot and may have got away with shorts. On the flip side I just saw a gritter drive by on the main road as I sat here typing.
Tuesday looks like it is when it really turns though there is still time for snow again before it's officially spring..cross your fingers we get away with it0 -
Shorts??!! No serious cyclist exposes the knees when there's an 'r' in the month except if racing and only following a decent warm-up.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Unfortunately it looks like the "spring" is taking the p*ss - as usual (sigh).

Amazing day on the bike yesterday out up the Hope Valley and the Stiperstones in (very) sunny Shropshire. First day out this year without a merino hat on under my helmet, 3/4 bib shorts on and no overshoes! I felt for the guys from my club who have swanned off to Majorca this week, the picture they posted on FB looked quite cloudy.0

It has been chilly at nights up here is Scotland but for almost the last two weeks it has been dry and warm during the day. Clocked up an impressive 117mile run in the borders on Friday and it was one of those days when I was too warm in the sun and then freezing in the wind when in the shade. Epic blue sky day though and visibility was great.
I like the spring temperature and on a long day in the saddle you start cold, get warm and then cold again as the afternoon sun fades away.Brian B.0 -
Still winter where I am. Got a bit caught out by taking a back road over a high hill and ended up having to walk in the snow for 4km. It's getting warmer this week though, so hopefully the winter bike can be put away.
