Terrible cadence and stuck deraileur!!!!!!!!

What am I doing wrong? I am new to this game. Got all the gear and a triban 3. I did 26 miles today. Average speed 16mph. BUT cadence is average 65, which I am not happy about. Ok the front deraileur got stuck/jammed in top cog and wouldn't budge half way into the ride?
Any suggestions on upping my cadence and improving on the mph?

    As far as upping your cadence goes you could use an easier gear which will make you peddle faster.As Far as improving mph I think thats just down to more riding.For example,on my ride yesterday my average for the first 25miles was about 17.5 mph.By the time I got home it was down to 14.5mph.This was because as i went further I just got more tired.To improve overall mph its just a case of ride ride ride.

    Thanks. Lower gear was a bit tricky today. Just plodded along shifting the rear gears and stuck in the front one
