I ride a CAAD 8 for fitness, but restore old bikes for fun.

This Carlton is a mix of old and new. '79 Carlton Professional 531 frame and forks with modern Shimano and Sturmey Archer running gear. It is a single-speed and rides beautifully.

Was going to sell it to fund next project, but thinking of keeping it now. :D

  • Really like this, looks to be a fun little runaround. Loving that colour too, what is it exactly? Thinking of giving my commuter a respray soon...
  • Cheers Jimmy

It is simply Candy Blue according to the company who powdercoated it. LSN in Castleford, and only £40 for frame and forks. I have another frame with them at the moment. Here's a close up of the finish.

  • Thanks, looks like they did a top job. Hadn't really considered power coat(got a spray booth at work I could use), but for that price and finish its seems like a no brainer!
  • Lovely looking bike, would make a great town bike!
