Building a Powertap G3 into Cosmic rim???

Can any wheel builders help me with this issue. I have a set of Cosmics, and I want a G3 Powertap. I don't however want to break down the wheel or buy the hub before I know its possible. First of all can it be done? I cant find any reference on the web, only Cosmic wheels with a Pro hub, not the G3. I was told by a powermeter website that its difficult to get the right spoke length, is this true? Difficult doesn't mean impossible though, right? Does anyone know the ERD of a Cosmic wheel as I cant find this anywhere either, not even on the Mavic technical site. I cant really justify buying a new wheelset just for the powermeter, but would really prefer the G3.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is perfectly doable, as long as the cosmic (Carbone?) rim accepts internal nipples of some sort. If you lift the rim tape and post a photo of the nipple I can give you a definitive answer.
Spoke length is not an issue, as these have a carbon fairing, so effectively spokes have a very normal length. They might be a bit of a pain to fit in, but hey oh, life is tough...
If you live in the UAE, not sure you will find someone who can do it, over here, plenty

  • Gene - the issue here with the G3/Cosmic is that the exact spoke length is finding rather troublesome to find with the correct blade width to fit through the hub and the correct threadsize to fit the Mavic internal nipples. We are currently trying to source a spoke that will allow us to build these wheels, but as of yet we have no luck.
