Hi all i'm looking at getting a new bike this year. I'm thinking Wilier Gran Turismo or Cube litening Super HPC. Anyone ridden them or have a opinion about them. Or any other suggestion, As long as its not a Giant. I've got a budget of £2500 i mainly ride sportives

For £2,500 there are plenty of decent bikes.

You'll probably find lots of people will give you different brands/models and all will do the job very well & at that price range there are few that are poor.

Best bit of advice is make a long list of all the bikes in your range. Narrow down the ones you don't like (personally I do this on colour alone) then go out to your local bike shops and try them on, ask if you can test ride and one will work well for you. Not all bikes that are the same size fit and feel the same so is worth looking and trying for the one.
Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.

    This makes sense ^

If your budget is 2.5k then I would spend less and get some fancy wheels.

Only reason I say that is I did the same thing a few years back & very happy with what I got. Could have bought a bike that may have had a single part better on it, but I fell in love with a nice Felt & V happy. Only spend £2,000 and purchased a few other things to go with it.

There are lots of possibilities in this price range here (yes, I know the winner was a Giant, but there are others reviewed).

So why bother asking if you have decided on either of these two? Why not a Giant, snobbery perhaps? The Defy Advanced is arguably the best Sportive bike out there, Giant carbon frames are the benchmark to which everyone else not making bespoke frames aspires to.

Oh, by the way I had no intention of buying a Giant either until i tried one.

I don't like the styling of the giants. I haven't decided on these yet. Just a lbs has them.

The Wilier GT is a good bike. It looks good too.

Looked at the Wilier GT today. Only had it in dark. Would have been nice to see it in red and white.

This and with the £250 you have left you can get a bike fit and some nice pedals to go with it.

Fair enough, at least you are honest. The compact geometry and sloping top tube isn't everyones cup of tea. I nearly bought a Defy 1 but couldn't bring myself to buy an almost entirely white bike so upgraded to the 0 which is black/blue/white, the only other difference being slightly better brakes and an Ultegra rear mech. The Advanced frames are beautiful close up and the SL's works of art. Speaking of which my LBS has and Advance Sl frame for £1500 which is a bargain. you could spec up a very nice bike with your remaining £1000 and have one of the best frames ever made.
