Well after a few days of my training camp, decided to smash out my first 100miles. Become one of the hardest journeys iv taken! After a windy start calmed down in to a light cross wind. I normally cycle in semi flat area so coming down to Plymouth to do some training ended up with just shy of 9000ft climbed and completed in 7hours after two coffee stops and one puncture.
To say I feel stiff today is a understatement! But well pleased the four of us completed it!!

Nice job. How do you climb 9000ft in only a 100 miles in Plymouth? Do you have the Garmin or Strava? Have a friend down there and want to do some riding.English Cycles V3 | Cervelo P5 | Cervelo T4 | Trek Domane Koppenberg0

We headed out towards Dartmouth and up and round towards tavistock, get plenty of hill training in. I was shocked at how hilly it is. Just looked was 8100ft on strava. Once I get on my laptop ill post the link for you to check out along with a recovery ride I did as well which was 4,400ft.0 -

Well done! Longest I have rode is just over 60 miles and managed to climb over 1200m throughout that distance. Nothing spectacular, but the terrible road surfaces in Surrey are not favourable. I'm sure I could cycle 100 miles, but it'd require a few things: riding in a small group or with a friend, nice scenery, mild weather (about 18c), and a lot of concentration. Of course, it would be incredibly difficult for me, but I believe it's more than possible.
Keep up the good work!0 -
That's why we are so tough down here.... See you for the yogi ride tomorrow?0

Lovely scenery down that way! Was in a small group four of us. Weather was about high of 3c and emotional to say the least! Course you can do it as long as you set your self time and train for it, there is no reason why anyone can't.
Keep the rubber down and you will smash it soon I'm sure!!0 -

I do a quick 40 mile ride round wakefield/huddersfield which takes a little over 2 and a half hours which as 3000ft of climbing so your ride is pretty good going for what is a relatively flat part of the UK. If I wander off towards the peak district over the Holme Valley then that ramps up disturbingly quickly.the deeper the section the deeper the pleasure.0 -
After your first 100 you realise just what pro riders put they're (admittedly younger than mine) bodies through. I wolfed down some pasta, collapsed in bed for two hours than emptied the fridge. Great fun :-)http://www.strathspey.co.uk - Quality Binoculars at a Sensible Price.
