    Before anyone can give you any advice, you need to give a bit more info namely;

    -budget
    -use of bike (recreation, commuting, possibly racing?)

    There are other points but these are the most important for now.

    Recommendation is generally that below £500 you're best buying second hand if that helps.
    2010 Trek 1.5 Road - swissstop green, conti GP4000S
    2004 Marin Muirwoods Hybrid

    Budget is £2500 ish . Sportives is what im after it for . It will be my second bike with my old one being down graded for winter rides.

    Crikey, at £2500 you've got massive choice!

    Giant Defy Advanced, Trek Domane, Cannondale Synapse, Specialised Roubaix Comp are all "safe" choices and highly regarded IMO, but there are so many more out there too. Spec one yourself at Ribble, that budget would do extremely well there!

    PS, £2500 is a bit above entry level, i was expecting you to be saying £1000 or less. :lol:

    Did you add an extra zero? I wouldn't call £2500 'entry level'...

    Sure you're not a troll - £2.5K for an entry level? :D

    De Rosa gets my vote. R838, stretch to Athena if you can (after all it is described as De Rosa's entry level bike!)

    £2500 is by no means an entry level road bike. You could buy this month's Cycling+ magazine, they review 40 bikes in their Bike of the Year 2013.

    My recommendation is for you to (a) research the makes, models and prices, (b) get down to your Local Bike Shops and see what they sell (c) narrow the choice down to 2 or 3 bikes based on price/equipment/looks and finally (d) test ride them for several hours each to see if they fit you.

    Everyone is different and every bike has a different feel/geometry - what is comfortable for one is not for another.
  • £2500 entry level? you could practically but any bike on the market.

    You come on here and say you have 2.5k and your either a troll or a fruitcake. I only got a turbo bike and had burning crosses on my garden.

    To answer your question though, your choice is endless, you can get serious kit for that money. Good luck in your quest and post some piccies of what you get.
