Different length post mounts on fork

Hey all.
Long time user first time poster.
I have a slight issue with a fork change I am doing on my old giant talon.
It is fitted with a Rockshox XC30 TK.
The problem is that every Fork available for purchase that I have seen with "Post mount" brake mounts has the "posts" the same length.
The Rockshox XC30 on my bike has the lower post about half the length of the upper post.
This appears to be so it can sit the Elixir 1 caliper on the bike at an angle. The mounts on the caliper are off center with the lower end of the caliper sitting further forwards and the upper further back.
I have read that some fork conversions require adapters to fit different calipers. I don't see how this is possible in this situation as an adapter will only move the caliper out further. This in turn would require a new brake disc that would be sitting several inches from the hub and surely be a recipe for warping the disc.
My question is...
1. Is there anyway to fit my current caliper to the longer brake posts
2. If not, am I up for a new caliper AND disc, or can I just get away with a new caliper
3. What the hell is wrong with these people.. just have an industry standard for #+@$ sake!
Much thanks

I can't even find another elixir 1 with the spastic mounting set up. Only regular ones:

Lucky me having the only bike with a shit different set up
Thanks a lot Giant!0 -
1 just bolt it on.
2 not needed
3 nothing."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Are you sure?
Having not tried this you might be right.
BUT... it looks extremely likely the caliper will not completely contact the disc. I will effectively be fixing the caliper to a point further from the disc than it is already positioned.0 -
yes."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Ok then.
New fork ordered.0 -
Thanks cobba.
Hopefully everything goes swimmingly when the new fork arrives in a couple of weeks.0 -
unfortunatly what cobba links to does not answer your question it only shows you how you can change for different size discs etc.
so again just take what you have now and fit it to the new fork.
there is no difference."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

The different lenths and positions of post mounts has to do with where the the axle is positioned on the fork and size of the fork lowers.
Pages 6 & 7 on the following Avid document shows two fork shapes, the centre of the axle is in a different position on both forks and they both have different length post mounts but they both have the same 56mm measurement from the centre of the axle to the top edge of the bottom post mount.
