Recently purchased a new TREK 4.5 MADONE road bike, and had the latest innovation in mudguards from SKS fitted by the TREK store who supplied the bike. -at a cost £45 with free fitting.
The mudguards are manufactured by SKS and have a clip on system for easy and speedy removal .
After only 500 miles the clips kept coming loose and dropping out of the retaining units .
I returned the bike with the mudguards to the TREK store.
The only way of ensuring the mudguards would not come loose, was for the mechanic to secure the guards with nuts and bolts to the mounting units, subsequently loosing the facility of quick release.Good concept if it works,"but mine do not do what is says on the tin" and expensive to boot
Anyone had the same experience ??
