So over the past couple of weekends I've been demoing a couple of bikes I wana buy.
Lapierre Zesty 314 and Specialized Stumpy FSR Comp Evo (26er)
And im majorly torn...for so many reasons...
I like the ride of them both!
I prefer the Fox CTD fork on the Zesty over the Rock Shox Revelation RC3 on the Spesh (both 150)
The RC3 had a tendancy to blow through initial travel very fast...and it dived a lot under breaking.
the firmest setting still compresses quite a lot...not ideal on the climbs
BUT The fox rear shock on the Spesh is 150 (Lap is 140), and the autosag is really handy and quick.
Overall I think the Lapierre is a slightly better spec...XT, Formula, Mavic etc...
But the Spesh has the dropper seat post.
It also has 2x10 with bash and chain device...a desired set up of mine, specced as standard without the extra expense/headache of setting up.
Zesty is 3x10...but XT.
I think it's a little lighter too so a bit more nimble.
Then the Spesh has internal cabling for the dropper and also on the chainstay for the rear mech.
Although there are cable guides for a dropper should I add one.
On thing that is really odd is the cable routing for the front mech.
Ya seen it? WTF is that all about?
No bottle cage accommodation on the Zesty...and I've no intention of upgrading to the E:I suspension.
The shifters/brake levers on the Spesh are on one clamp, so I'd need to sort out new clamps in order to fit my XT brakes.
I like the look of the Spesh more, but the finish on the Zesty is lovely too
The Spesh is a little more expensive
Anyone out there riding either of these? Any thoughts? Or dealings with warranties
I guess I'd be very happy with either...but that's making it hard to decide.
And don't even get me started on the Norco Sight..
Cheers

The fork on the Spesh is an oddball, an OE design that you can't buy. They removed the best feature, the adjustable low speed damping!0
