hi all, i need to replace the pawls and spring in my roval traverse al wheels of 2011 specialized enduro expert.
i do belive they are dt swiss internals? the pawls are nice and cheep from chainreaction at 6.99 with a grease and the spring but do i need any special tools?
i changed the pawls on some hope pro 2 hubs and that was easy but dt swiss are diffrent?
the dt swiss spring came of easy but was this because it was broken? is there tools needed to get the new spring on without braking the spring?
cheers matt

yeah, cant seem to find anything but the star rachet type?
  • No special tools needed unless you want to remove the pawl carrier itself - in which case you'd need a long 13mm allen key inserted from other side to get that off. Once that pawl spring is broken there is nothing holding the two pawls in place anymore and they are liable to start floating about and damaging the hub internals - I know from exprience!
  • Only the socket for the cassette lock ring, but that can come off with the hub body once the lock nut on the axle is off. i have a DT Swiss 370 hub and just use 2x 17mm spanners, brush to put grease on/in, long nose pliers & a small flat head screwdriver.
