Hi there!
Is anybody currently using these wheels?

They look great value and got 10/10 in CW recently but there doesn't seem to be any reviews!

Thanks in advance.

  • Same thing as the Planet X AL 30, with pricier spokes... on balance I would get those, which are half the price or would get the same rims (Kinlin 30 mm) built by a builder for less/same money

They are about 300g lighter than the Planet X though!

You can sand the spokes down and remove the excess weight...

Seriously, there is very little between the two.. I know the weight figure seems to make a lot, but it is not... And half of it is down to under engineered hubs...

I have those wheels, they have not caused a problem so far (hubs and sanded down spokes have not collapsed- touch wood) - 1000 miles. Sold to me by Gareth Hewitt of Cycledivision who showed them to me on his bike. I am 90 kg which I would say is the upper limit of anyone wishing to buy them. They are very light wheels. To add the people at cycledivision are very helpful and if you live anywhere near Mansfield well worth the visit - the operation is fronted by Gareth Hewitt and a guy who won the Milk Race (whose name escapes me).

I have to say they look nice and certainly seemed lighter than AC 420 Aeros, which I consider to be the benchmark of this wheel type.

What, are you siding with me intead of Ugo?
I think I am going to Vom.................

On a serious note, both Planet X and Cycledivision are situated very close to each other, both are definately worth the visit.

I did not say I rated them, simply that they look nice and are light :D

Got a pair for my bike in Italy.

Not going over for a few weeks though so I'll have to be patient!!

I'll let you know when I've had a few rides on them.
