Hello,
I have recently taken up mountain biking using my dads old diamond back mountain bike but now I want to take it to the next level by building my own bike but I am a little confused on where to start. Would someone be able to write me a components list of all of the parts I will need to make my new mountain bike!!

Not really. Depending on what parts you end up getting, you might need some things and not others or vice-versa (like some wheels come with QRs, some don't, or maybe you have a thru-axle fork) . Just take a look at something like Park Tools' website to get an idea of it and then start with the big, obvious stuff. You'll soon see what smaller parts are missing.0
