Spd sl shimano or other?

Looking at buying first set of ultegra spd sl pedals and shoes. Currently riding spd.

Question is other makes such as ritchey was are much lighter at a similarly price. They say they are keo compatable. Will new shimano shoes fit these ritchey pedals and is the release action the same as shimano.

    Assuming the shoes are road and have a three bolt attachment then yes, you can use Keo.

    Assuming that they are the "classic" version and not the Blade, then engagement and release is the same. I don't know about the Blade model though.

    Wouldn't let the weight of the pedals bother you too much though.
