I recently fitted these Clarkes pads

£8.99 from CRC for 2 pad carriers & 4 pads. Bargin, im really happy with performance
  • You could do better than Shimano; Koolstop and SwissStop both spring to mind...

Glad to hear that you are pleased with them just got a set for my Triban3 (brakes are rubbish).

    Soda
  • Got the clarkes pads as well a few months back from CRC but have to say they wear at an alarming rate. I know the conditions have been poor but I will pay a bit more next time.

I got these a couple of weeks ago

They seem to be performing very well in wet and dry conditions. The ones I received weren't black though (Chrome) :x

you don't even have to buy the full pad and shoe - just get a replacement block and insert them into the existing shoe - swisstop greens are the best ones for all round conditions with ali rims, a lot cheaper than dura-ace for what is a consumable

    Hi all

I'm looking to change my brake pads on my Triban 3. Had it for nearly a year now, but feel its time for some new brakes.

I am looking at these Koolstop Salmon/black,
    http://www.wiggle.co.uk/kool-stop-dura- ... e-inserts/

Will these fit my bike? Or if not which type do I need of the Koolstop ones?

Thanks in advance for your help
  • Yeah they'll fit.

For those that have fitted the Clarks pads - do you find these noisy? Not squealing, like a loud rubbing/whirring sound

I am going to put Salmon on the front the black on the back, it does rain a lot where I live!

I am contemplating buying another set of wheels and winter tyres/ mud guards and use the bike through the winter rather than my mtb. Any tips from those that's done it?
