Press fit bottom bracket question.

I currently have a 2010 Cube Agree SL which has a Shimano Ultegra FC-6750 Hollowtech II Compact 50x34, Press-Fit BB. I've been eyeing up a second hand Canyon Ultimate CF frame but as far as I'm aware these frames take external BB's. What would I need to get my current crankset etc. to work on the Canyon frame or is it even possible? Advice appreciated.

You sure you have an Ultegra crankset with a press fit BB? I thought Shimano had avoided press fit so far?

Or is it using somebody elses bottom bracket?

If you're moving to a frame with a threaded BB shell, all you'd need is the Hollowtech II bottom bracket cups. I picked up an Ultegra 6600 set for £11 from CRC a couple of weeks ago. They are back up to £19 now, and 6700 seems to be £25 http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=38998

    Something not right there OP.

Shimano H2 BB's are external and are not push fit.
    Yellow is the new Black.

Pretty sure it's press fit, according to Cube site anyway, this is copied from the bike spec "Shimano Ultegra FC-6750 Hollowtech II Compact 50x34, Press-Fit BB" . Doesn't have external cups. Now I'm confused.

Well I be...every day is a school day.

So that being the case you just need the correct BB for the canyon and then the chainset wil be a straight swap.

can't see any bottom bracket info on the site though.

Figured it would be a good upgrade from my Cube alu frame as long as there wasn't too much cost involved in making the Cube components work on the Canyon.

Me too! Suppose they had to join the press-fit BB party eventually.

Is that really pressfit bb91 or bb30? Looks cartridge type to me threaded.

Pressfit is well overrated imo.. but only because to do a good job you have to get frame lying on its side chocked up on blocks of wood to knock out old bearing nicely and tap in new bearing into frame before finishing off with a press tool.
At least with external / cartridge systems it is actually done in minutes without any faff.
I have actually ordered a bb30 conversion to English thread to have in toolbox if any issues with a new bb30 bearing installation tomorrow, but that means YET another expense getting a new crankset. As you might have guessed, I have messed up one side :cry:
