My Giant ATX

Don't think I have posted this since I rebuilt it so, without further a do, here is my Giant ATX 840 that I rebuilt to get back into a bit of MTB (defected to the road side of life)!
It started life in a state similar to this, only worse....
So I stripped down the frame, painted it, and stuck it all back together with some updated bits and bobs:
Spec wise, off the top of my head:
Frame: 2001 Giant ATX 840
Forks: Suntour Epicon RLD
Brakes: Avid Elixir 1
Drivetrain: Shimano Deore 8-speed, running as 1x8 with a raceface XC single chainset
Pedals: Wellgo V8 Reps.
Wheels: Unknown
Tyres: Soon to be replaced to something like Race Kings
All comments welcome

liking the clean black & white look
was the frame painting a DIY job, if so what did you do it with?0 -
Thanks!
It was a DIY job indeed. Rubed down by hand, Etch primer (x2 or 3 coats, I can't really remember!) and for the colour I used rattle cans of Audi Volcano Black, which has a slight pearlesence to it. Am still very pleased with the result too!0 -
Nice work there, Need to loose the reflectors though? :P0

Thanks! I did notice the reflectors were still on in these. They have now been removed and disposed of0

That looks the bollocks! Best looking Giant ive seen Loving the custom paint too Did you use lacquer on it or is it just primer then the black?0

Cheers man! Never done anything like it before so I'm pretty chuffed with how it came out! Just banged some Continentals on it ready for the weekend
The paint has got a clear coat on, which I totally forgot to mention!0 -
Owing to this weekends riding in Bristol/Swinley Forest, this is now equipped with Shimano Deore cranks (as opposed to the raceface ones pictured)0

It's amazing what a significant difference a quick paintjob can make. Looked pretty horrid before, now it looks great!0

Thanks fellas! The positive comments are most appreciated!0

So I've had a bit of a fettle this morning and fitted a white Charge Spoon saddle, and given it a good clean to remove the remaining dirt of the last outing. Time for a bacon roll before bleeding the brakes with the kit ordered from Epic Bleed Kits0

Today's efforts of cleaning/new saddle. I also dropped the saddle height a bit. Just need to tweak the position a bit though.0
