    Loosen the clip tension in the pedals. The cleats will then detach with a good yank, even if you forget to unclip properly.

    True. Soul is a way of justifying spending 3k on a bike! Ride quality and comfort is far more important than any "soul" a bike is perceived to have. Giants are well made and finished which surely has its merits? They are not flash or cool (the Defy at least) but they deliver on all fronts as far as I am concerned.
