Hi guys,
my headset feels like sh*t.
Grinding and rubbing, and not smooth in the slightest
Plus my crown race race crown, what ever its called is snapped in 2... which doesnt help.
so decided to head over the http://www.chainreactioncycles.com to find a replacement unit when BAM! Billions of different types shapes and variants
needless to say i am confused about which is right for my bike so i am hoping to bow down to your superior knowledge once again to help me out here again!
my bike is a 2011 GT Avalanche 3 hydro
Not got the stock forks if thats make a difference, or stock anything really other than stem and headset...
link to spec of bike
http://www.evanscycles.com/products/gt/ ... 7#features
the one i have on there now is:
Headset:Tange Seiki 1 1/8" threadless Zerostack
i live on a super budget so keeping cost down is a must, but would be nice for a bit of budet bling, anodized maybe. blue or gold
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks for your time

so any Zerostack/internal/semi-integreated headset. ZS standard."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

so internal and semi integrated are the same thing then?
So any internal or semi integrated will work?
thanks alot for your response

If your crown race has snapped (not sure how that works) anything will feel terrible.
If you need one by the weekend, I suggest going into a shop.I don't do smileys.

yeah its snapped. i dont know how that happened either. i was giving her a little sponge bath after a trail when i noticed something catch my sponge. ran my finger over it and the things snapped.
it feels like shit, and now mud/dirt has got inside my frame i think.
if i find a suitable one i will get a next day CRC...
guessing they are pretty straight forward to replace?0 -

you can match SHIS numbers and match with SS one. I am not expert but you also need to check stack heights and OD.
Simplest option to take it to LBS.0 -
You need a Semi integrated headset. Zero Stack/Semi Integrated is the exact same thing and will be the same standard size unless otherwise stated.
The Superstar Headset (Integrato Headset) you have linked there will be fine for your bike. Buy it.0 -
