Chain

Just been looking at chains and what a minefield. Can someone advise what I might need. I have a 10 spd veloce cassette and FSA chainset. Looked on Chain Reaction and there is loads of different chains available. Some state a speed ( 7,8, 9,10etc ) others mention number links ( 112, 114, etc ). Just wondered what I should be looking at.
If any can be recommended that would be helpful too. Do I need a specific make?

http://www.wiggle.co.uk/kmc-x10-93-10-speed-chain/ is what I use on my 10 speed Campag Veloce cassette.
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/kmc-x10-sl-10-s ... 112-links/ if you're feeling like you have a bit too much money in yer wallet...
Get these for on the road repairs...http://www.wiggle.co.uk/kmc-10-speed-chain-links/ some come with the new chain but you cant ride far if your chains snapped out in the wilds...
That rivet extractor is fine for removing the old chain, so are some bolt cutters, or you might find it already has a quick link, so break it using that.0 -
As above, any 10-speed chain will do.
As to the number of links, you'll most likely have to shorten the chain to fit. With the chain on the big chain ring and the small rear sprocket the wheel axle and jockey wheel axles should be vertical.0 -
KMC everytime - I go for the X10L - good offer from Wiggle for them at the moment ...0

Any 10 speed chain will work with anyones 10 speed drive train no matter what shimano or campag might say.
The 112 or 114 number refers to the number of links. I would not worry about this unless you have extremely long chain stays and running a big chainring with a big rear cassette.
KMC and campagnolo do make very good chains. The KMC 10-93 has to be one of the best 10 speed chains out there as it so cheap and lasts well. I quite like campag record 10 speed chains too but they cost a fiar bit more as well.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0 -

Nice one £7 or so cheaper than the X10L I just bought from Wiggle but as I weigh over 18 stone I really need to save that handful of grams :shock:0
