New cranks and compatibility - Help.

Evening all, I'm in the market for a long overdue upgrade to my old crankset. Already settled on the Shimano SLX double.
What I'm wanting to know, is the new 2013 2x10 compatible with what my set up is (below).
Front Derailleur: Shimano SLX
Rear Derailleur: SRAM X-9
Shifters: SRAM X-5
Cassette: SRAM PG-950 11-32
I plan on upgrading the rest to make it actual 2x10, but for the time being could I get away with just adjusting the front mech limiting screws for a 2x9 set up?
Has anybody done this? Or could you point me in the right direction for a similar thread. (got a slow dongle atm so browsing is a bit of a pain).
