Hi,
I'm new to this site and would really appreciate any advice.
I have a budget of around £600/700 and would like to know the best mountain bike i can get for that price? I'm 6'5" so need to be getting and extra large frame.
Thank you in advance
Sean

You might not need an XL frame, depends on how the manufacturers measure it.
What shops do you have locally to you?0 -
i work in Manchester city centre.... i know Evans is down the road. I popped into Halfords at the weekend to have a quick look and sat on a 19" frame and the guy said i'd prob need the 21/22" frame...0

I've been looking at the Cannondale Trail SL4...??0

Probably, but not always ;-)
Have a look at this in halfords:

Should i be getting 29" wheels then?0

It's an option. Try the bikes, see how it feels.0

If you are ok going used, the market is flooded with decent bikes at that price. You could probably pick up something semi decent with a Reba fork and perhaps a mix of SLX/XT.
You do not need a bike with 29" wheels; as above, it is an option, but...
IMHO, you can buy a better spec'd 26" wheeled bike than one with 29" wheels of similar price.
FWIW, I am 6´4" and ride a 21.5 Trek frame and 21" Orange frame.0
