This may have been asked many, many, many times before....

But; does the KMC Shimano 10 speed Chain Connector fit correctly to the XT (type) HGX 10 speed directional chain?

I have 10 speed Shimano road chains, and have read there is no issue with them....but I believe they are different to the directional HGX chain.

Any help I would appreciate...As I am off on a 3 dayer up to the 7Stanes and am filling the tool box with essentials (just in case)!!

Thanks, Johnny

Yes, fine. As you say it's been asked repeatedly, a search would likely have told you this!
  • I just bought them for a trip and shop said there ok,

    Trek Remedy 2013 (sold)
    Cube Reaction GTC Pro (sold)
Gary Fisher Hoo Koo E Koo
  • Thanks....Did a google search....and nothing exacty specific came up for the HGX chain!! Cheers!
  • I installed a KMC connector link on two bikes, one with 10 speed SLX and one with 10 speed XT, both were fine.
    Planet X Kaffenback 2
    Giant Trance X2
    Genesis High Latitude 2x10
    Planet X n2a
    Genesis Core 20
  • To confirm, KMC 10 speed (and other speeds, respectively) Missing Links (PN: CL559 and CL559R) can be used across all 10 speed systems.
  • Thanks alot everyone.....Just buying mine now!!
